For the Love of Missions was founded by a group of people who participated in multiple short term mission trips to the community of the Guatemala City garbage dump. It became clear that the short term trips were not igniting long term change so For the Love of Missions launched on a journey to discover what would create long term change in the lives of individuals and the community.

We started out with the plan to provide jobs and build relationships with the employees through those jobs. In January 2014, a small artisan jewelry business started with eight employees.

In February 2015, we additionally partnered with two artisan entrepreneurs and added their products to the jewelry in our product line.

In September 2015, unfortunately due to new understanding of the Guatemalan labor code and the complexity of the Guatemala City garbage dump community, For the Love of Missions moved to end the small business which allowed God to open new and exciting doors for For the Love of Missions.

For the Love of Missions has adjusted our strategy to part
ner with local business and community leaders to support their
vision as they live and work in their communities. Read more about these programs here Community Development, Mentoring and Education, Economic Development.
