For the Love of Missions was founded by a group of people who participated in multiple short term mission trips to the community of the Guatemala City garbage dump. It became clear that the short term trips were not igniting long term change so For the Love of Missions launched on a journey to discover what would create long term change in the lives of individuals and the community.
2014 - We started a small jewelry business employing 8 people.
2016 - We gave a business loan to a leather entrepreneur and partnered with artisans to sell their products in the U.S.
In our current focus to empower local leaders to disciple their communities:
2016- The mentoring program started in the Guatemala City garbage dump.
2017- We partnered with local leaders in the small rural village of Popabaj.
2018 – We funded 10 scholarships to middle school, high school and college students in the Guatemala City garbage dump community.
2018 - The Duncan Learning Center opened with library, computer lab, study hall and tutoring for students in the scholarship program.
