My favorite part of the program is the activities on Saturdays, it allows the families enjoying being together. God is at work on family unity
I have seen God work through FTL when during Saturday program, different families had approached us to give us encouragement when they see we have a cerebral palsy baby, even though they themselves are facing greater challenges than us! They have words of blessing, they are not only able to receive but they are getting ready to give and share with others. It’s a joy to listen to their dreams, hopes, and their genuine faith in Jesus Christ, the true God who is attracting all of us to Him in special through the love of each person involved in the program.
I absolutely love brainstorming and strategizing. It is so exhilarating watching our dreams and plans come true. God has shown me that we have to wait for Him, and when we are in alignment with Him and His will nothing is impossible. Watching Him work and move in me, in our board, here, and in Guatemala is absolutely fascinating. God is already in the places we serve. I love traveling, I love seeing people get opportunities that are life changing. When we all realize that we are all more similar than we are different it opens the door for love and relationships.
I always love how its an adventure and exciting to see what God is doing with or without us, especially in Guatemala
He has done so much in us: breaking pride, teaching humility, understanding cultures, unity, forgiveness, God's provision, salvation changing people, sacrifice, perseverance, joy, strength, patience, LOVE
The favorite part of what I do with FTL is visiting, sharing and getting to know each of the families
The fellowship within families during our activities When the families practice the teachings as result of our mentoring.
I love to see leaders coming together, specially leaders who grew in the same condition and want to help their own people. I love to see hope in the families, it has been a joy to hear from them that they want to know more about Jesus. I like to hear the youth/children wanting to continue with their education. I enjoy seeing the men, step up and have a leadership role in their families
I like to work with the people, it does not matter the age. I specially like the relationships that come from helping them and doing the activities that we do with them. The best part of everything is to see the smiles on peoples faces.
I have seen God in everything that For The Love has done here. We can see God working through for the love because they bring the love of Jesus to the people here. Something that we have heard in Popabaj is “It does not matter race, color or country; For the love has taken us as their brothers, sisters, and children of God.”
EMPOWERING LOCAL LEADERS TO DISCIPLE THEIR COMMUNITY
FOR GENERATIONAL FREEDOM IN CHRIST
I love to see the families having fellowship and having fun together. I’ve seen God’s Glory working with the families, as families are so important for Him and society, and He is working through families for His Glory.
My favorite part of For the Love of Missions is sharing the stories of life change in Guatemala and being a part of a fresh understanding of missions and how to serve the materially poor.
As we have continued to seek God’s direction, it has been amazing to see His work in the local leaders in Guatemala, their projects for discipleship and community development, and in our lives in the US too. He has something for each one of us to grow in. True development is when the helpers and the helped are growing in relationship with God. I am thankful to see and experience that through For the Love.
My favorite part of For the Love is being a part of serving others for Christ
I have seen God work through His provision in the lives of the staff and families in Guatemala.
My most favorite thing I experience with For the Love is when I get to see peoples hearts encounter God in a raw and transformative way with both Americans and Guatemalans. One of the ways I have seen God is how He breaks down barriers and builds up trust cross culturally and in turn, peoples' lives are irrevocably changed and dignity and value is eternally restored.
The favorite part of what I do with FTL is spending time with the families, walking with them in love and counseling. I’ve seen how God has been transforming the families, and the interest they have to know more about God and improve their quality of life.
